The Pit - The Legacy is back again with its tenth volume, after three year break due to the Pandemic.


The very idea of The Pit came up in 2009 when the Kolkata metal circuit was in its nascent stage and the bands like In Human, Chronic Xorn, Yonsample, DIOTB and other people who loved the genre came together to form a metal community where people would pour in to dive into the spirit of music. It was a time when restaurants and bars never allowed metal bands to perform live and gigs didn't take place as frequently as it happens now. The Pit started as a self sponsored event and the first five volumes took place in Tapan Theatre, the first three volumes being free gigs. People came together in huge numbers to support the artists and the genre as a whole. The theatre was bursting at the seams with a crowd of more than 400 metallers from the city and outside headbanging to their fullest amidst the gothic dimly lit non air-conditioned theatre hall which usually staged plays and other cultural events.

The Pit - The Legacy is back again with its tenth volume, after three year break due to the Pandemic.The event is set to happen at Triguna Sen Auditorium, Jadavpur University, on 5th of November, this year. The lineup constitutes of Inner Sanctum, a famous death/thrash act hailing from Bangalore which shared the stage with famous acts like Metallica, Entombed, Cradle Of Filth, As I Lay Dying, Amon Amarth and Textures; then we have Chronic Xorn(metalcore), In-Human(death metal) , Armament(Thrash) , Broken Barons(metalcore) , Ksetravid(progressive tech death) and Thirst Of Faust(death metal) with Boshow as their ticketing partner, StageMark as the sound partner, Concert Wizards as the video partner, What's The Jam and Headtilts as the media partners, Artify India as the merchandise partner, Dipayan Das Arts as the design partner and Sound Speaks Center, Calcutta Ink and Inklink Tattoos handling the sponsorship duties along with Lizard Skin Tattoos & Carapace Tattoos and Piercing LLP, Food Partners being Chowman', Fat Filler Burgers'.

The Pit was like the Big Bang of the metal revolution in the city which created a platform for the Fagbearers of this genre to make live metal shows start taking shape. The first volume took place on 27th January 2009 with Cicatrixx, Chronic Xorn, Evil Conscience, In Human, Noyze Akademi, Sinful Oath and thus the legacy continues.

Lollapalooza India - Around 60K people are to attend Lollapalooza as per the headcount via the organizers and the website of Book My Show.

Lollapalooza is an annual four-day multi-genre music festival that takes place in Grant Park, Chicago, that started as a tour in the year 1991.  Transcending boundaries of history, culture, language and geography, it brings together music lovers since Perry Farrell, the frontman of the rock band, Jane's Addiction laid the founding pillars in the 90s.
